Free Legal Answers is a virtual legal advice clinic and a project of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service. Qualifying users post their civil legal question to their state’s website. Users will be emailed when their question receives a response. Attorney volunteers select questions to answer and provide legal information and advice. Volunteer attorneys will not answer criminal law questions, will not call you, make calls or file papers for you, go to meetings for you, or go to court for you. You can use the website to ask 3 different legal questions per year.
You can use this website if all of these are true for you:
Your income is low for a family the size of yours.
The value of your checking account, savings account, stocks or bonds are low.
You aren’t in jail or prison.
Your legal problem isn’t related to a criminal charge.
You don’t already have a lawyer to help you with your legal problem.
You are an adult.
