Aging and Disability Resource Center of the North

This program protects the human and civilĀ rights of people and investigates complaints from any person concerning improper treatment of elderly persons receiving long-term care in a Wisconsin nursing home, Community Based Residential Facility, Assisted Living Facility, or Adult Family Home licensed by the State of Wisconsin. The program also offers advocacy for Family Care participants statewide. The Ombudsman in this office will be an advocate to help resolve any problem or dispute relating to long-term care; provide presentations on nursing home residents’ rights, and other topics related to long-term care; answer questions about public benefits, alternatives to nursing home care, and the difference between guardianships, powers of attorney, and conservatorships.
The Ombudsman operates through the Wisconsin Board of Aging and Long-Term Care. There is no charge for this service.
