Lifeline is a program administered through the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC). Lifeline makes essential telecommunications more affordable for low-income households by reducing monthly telephone charges. Most telephone companies that provide local residential service in Wisconsin are required to offer this program to their residential customers. Customers apply for Lifeline discounts directly through their local telephone company provider.
