Northwest Wisconsin Community Service Agency (NWCSA) services include an Emergency Shelter in Ashland, a Free Store for clients with donated clothing and household items, a Tax Assistance Program providing free tax preparation for households meeting guidelines and making less than $64,000/year, and programs in the following areas (visit NWCSA’s website for more details):
ASHLAND, BAYFIELD, IRON, and PRICE Counties:
* When funds are available, NWCSA provides the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program for those who are homeless or facing homelessness.
* Affordable housing for those who meet income guidelines.
* Judicare applications for free legal services.
ASHLAND, BAYFIELD, and IRON Counties:
* Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for those age 55+ who wish to volunteer services in their community.
ASHLAND and BAYFIELD Counties:
* When funds are available, NWCSA offers 72-Hour Care (food and shelter) to homeless individuals
* When funds are available, NWCSA offers Emergency Assistance with utility disconnections or rent/mortgage assistance.
* Transitional Housing (families must have a referral from a shelter, CASDA, or NWCSA’s 72- hour care program)
* Memory Lane adult day services for individuals with dementia
